The Hammerheads are currently sitting in a two way tie for first place along with the Richmond Kickers. The Hammerheads enter the game on a winning streak and are looking to continue this. They have won their last four matches as well as six of their last seven.

While the Hammerheads have already secured a 2009 playoff spot the Riverhounds are still looking to pick up one of the last two playoff spots that are still up for grabs.  With only four regular season games left all points are very valuable for the Hammerheads in gaining a top seed for the playoffs.
