The Hammerheads and Western Mass kicked off at 7:30pm tonight. The Pioneers collected their first points of the season with a 2-1 victory over the Hammerheads. The Hammerheads are now 3-1-2 on the season and have 11 points in the USL Second Division standings.

The Pioneers scored in the 19th and 29th minutes to take a 2-0 lead into half time. Then in the 50th minute Calum Angus cut the Pioneers lead in half with a goal off of a free kick but this was the only Hammerheads goal giving the Pionners the victory. Hammerheads goalkeeper Daryl Sattler had nine saves on the night.

The Hammerheads now return home for a two game home stand. They first host the Pittsburgh Riverhounds next Saturday at 7:00pm at Legion Stadium. Buffalo Wild Wings will host a pregame tailgate party beginning at 5:30pm with live music and free wings. Tickets are available by visiting www.wilmingtonhammerheads.com or by calling 910-202-0518.
