COACH:  Debra Worleyhas been part of the Hammerheads organization for four years.  She is an award winning choreographer and has been teaching various styles of dance for more than 10 years.  She has toured with Starpower and has worked with dancing greats like Ray Leeper, Mandy Moore and Mike Minery.  In addition to coaching, Debra teaches at A Leap Above in Wilmington.  She was part of the UNCW dance team for four years and was the captain her senior year.  During the day, Debra can be found working at WECT.  Nicknamed “Web Deb,” she keeps viewers informed online, on their cell phones, and on Facebook.  Under her direction, the website has won several awards, including best website from the Radio and Television News Directors Association of the Carolinas.

ASSISTANT COACH: Shanna Thornton has been part of the Hammerheads organization for four years.  She danced with UNCW from 2002-2006 and was the captain her senior year.  Shanna has studied jazz, hip hop and lyrical for several years.  She has a BS in biology and is currently working on a BA in chemistry.  Additionally, Shanna is working towards earning her teachers certification in secondary science.  When she’s not dancing or studying, you can find Shanna at Firehouse Subs, where she’s an assistant manager.

CAPTAIN: Nicole Lester has been part of the Hammerheads organization for three years.  She has lived in Wilmington for most of her life, dancing competitively at 5,6,7,8 and Just Duet.  She graduated from Laney High School with a Senior Dance Award Scholarship.  Nicole is currently studying business at CFCC and plans to transfer soon to UNCW.  When she’s not at school or dancing, you can find Nicole at Tanglez Hair Salon and Spa as a front desk receptionist.  She has two golden retrievers that she loves.
